This is where we are now in our bathroom remod. Still a long way to go. We had a lot of water damage that Daniel had to repair and then he got force hired at work yesterday so that is why we are without a floor. It is coming along and I am just excited that we have a shower and a toilet as of right now.

We started our official bathroom remod project yesterday(noting that it's our only bathroom too, so it will be fun). We've had two days of demolition due to the crazy way they built this old house. And a lot of dust everywhere throughout the house. But we all got a chance to break through the walls, even Cody, who loved it. We are starting off by taking out the old shower and converting it into a linen closet. Then we will start on the floor and take it from there. I know Daniel is not loving the work right now and I am wanting the project done in the same time I watch HGTV, but I'm sure we will love the final results.

Sorry it's taken so long to post the final results of our new shower that has been done for a few weeks now. We love it.

The next project...whether we want to or not!! Leaking shower results in: taking out our shower and putting up new tile to make the tub into a shower also.

Not just another day

Today my little guy turned 6. He's been making some changes in the past month or so to prepare himself for the big jump. One very sad example, he will no longer give Daniel or I kisses and when we give him kisses he either tries to dodge them or tries to wipe them off. He's becoming my little man of the house, especially when Daniel is at work. He tells me that he will punch anyone who tries to hurt us.
As the day was passing by I started to think of Cody's birth, developing years, toddler years until now. He's definitely a unique little guy. He was born at 9:55 am and I will never forget that special day and all who celebrated with us. Cody was always a busy body, very daring, loved to climb and got plenty of owies to prove it. He's grown into such an awesome little guy, and it's hard to believe that I have a 6 year old. Some of the ways Cody is unique to us is :

He has his own cell phone and his own keys(phone doesn't actually work but he's always loved phones from the moment he could hold one) He loves to lock and unlock the car before we can and has a special clip on them that he saw Uncle Ryan have.

He's got a (Baby-G shock) watch that he loves and gets so many compliments on it. He's learning to tell time and doing pretty well with it.

He loves to wear his rain boots everywhere with everything. First thing he does when he gets home from school is take his shoes off and if we have to go anywhere...it's the boots he comes out with.

When people ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he tells them that he is going to be a Firefighter and a police man. I don't know how that's gonna work... He has a fire station by his school and he says that station is where he works to make money.

He loves when Daniel brings home his radio from work to listen to the police and fire calls and then will mimick what they say when he plays with his toys. He also has his own pair of handcuffs and a flashlight that he will run around the front yard yelling "get your hands up", and "STOP RESISTING" among other things he's heard on the TV show COPS.

These are just a few things that came to mind when thinking of the funny things Cody does. Life would not be the same without his love and comedy!

We decided to have a very small party at Chuck E. Cheese for him to celebrate his birthday. He had a great time playing all sorts of games and loved getting his birthday crown and medal.

It's been a healthy and happy 6 years and can't imagine life without him.

Another round of holes

I've had another round of holes in my heel due to the same problem I've been having for 9 years...huge plantar wart! The past 4 days have been a bit hard but I have to give my hubby who deserves a big shout out since he had to pick up the pieces. He had 4 days off and did all of the housework, laundry, cooking, and keeping Cody happy while I've been resting my foot. It has been healing nicely and I can almost wear a shoe now. This probably won't be the last time I have this done so those of you who see me limping around...you know what happened.

9 Years and counting...

That time of year rolled around and I am so lucky that I have an awesome husband who likes to plan fun things for us to do to celebrate. It has been 9 years and counting. Daniel surprised me with tickets to Kooza. We were mystified, we were awed, we were scared they were going to pull us on stage and have to do a dance with the clowns. We had a great time and enjoyed the show. We recommend to all!!

This Christmas

This Christmas proved to be a video gaming Christmas. It was the first year that Cody had shown any interest in them after seeing his cousin playing his. So all year he's been asking for a Nintendo DS, and boy was he excited when he saw that Santa did indeed come, and brought him is own DS. And I don't think I've seen much of his face ever since. I have to restrict it already!! This Christmas was a nice one. Shortly after putting up our decor inside the house Daniel came home from work raving about all of the traditions that another guy had told him that his family does every year. One of them being that they have a decoration that they put up every year and tell the kids that it's a camera that goes back to the North Pole to let Santa know if they are being good or bad so we decided to adopt this tradition. We picked a snowman that has black eyes. Cody wanted to see the cameras in the eyes so Daniel lifted him up and only let him get so close. But he took it hook, line and sinker!! In addition to the DS Santa was kind enough to bring our family the Wii. We have had a lot of fun family time with it already. It was also part of our fun on New Years Eve.

Now that Christmas is over we have already started our first project of the new year. We decided to put up crown molding and new baseboard in our bedroom. It's not finished yet but has been nothing but one problem after the other. We found out that we had a slow leak in our shower drain which is on the other side of our bedroom wall. After making a small hole we ended up having to patch a huge one. Then it just kept going on and on with small dumb stuff that kept it complicated. 4 days later it was finally finished and I had a husband that hopes to never see another project for a while...too bad the carpet and baseboard still have to be put in!!
