Proud aunt and uncle

These pictures are from the hospital yesterday. We came for a short visit. Both Ryan and Autumn looked pretty tired. Just the normal "we just had a baby look" but both had an awesome glow, beaming with pride for their adorable Tav. He's such a sweetie! We were able to hold him and show Cody that the baby that was in Autumn's tummy had come out. We've been trying to explain to him that Porter was getting a new baby brother and he would think for a minute and ask..."Phearson?" so we had to explain that Phearson was getting a new baby brother also, Tav.

Just a couple of little stories from our visit this afternoon. Porter was so loving towards Tav and being such a good helper, assisting Autumn in feeding him. He calls Tav "His Baby" and would come in to check on him every so often while I was holding him. I asked him if I could take Tav home with me for just one night and he was not too hip on that idea. They are a cute little family!! We also got to visit with Derek and Krystal afterwards with their little Lincoln who is growing so fast and is as cute as ever! Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of them. It's so fun to have such cute little nephews to play with...too bad I am on crutches because of my foot again...another story, another time!!

What a quiet night!

Grandma and Grandpa Bell came into town today to help Autumn and Ryan prepare for the baby to come(Tuesday). We spent most of the day over at Autumn's home where the boys played all day long without naps. Poor Grandpa was chasing the boys all day-at their request and was probably pooped by the last round of hide and seek (even though the boys hid in the same place every time). I finally bribed Cody (with the promise of an ice cream sandwich) to come home around 5:00. His eyes were red and already heavy. I quickly got some dinner in him and his PJ's on before he fell asleep at 5:40 pm. The night has been so quiet and relaxing. I was feeling a bit tired but felt that I should take advantage of this rare opportunity of alone time. I did a nice relaxing pilates routine with some stretching afterwards listening to Josh Grobin. Then I hit the computer to find some new music for my IPod. I found some songs from back when I was in junior high. It was a nice evening of just listening to music. I must say I didn't care too much for the whole IPod idea until Daniel convinced me to get one and now I am loving it! Music is sometimes my only escape from stress. It's been a stressful week so it is so nice to have a quite night to myself. Ah, the simple pleasures of life...or am I just getting old??

Two black eyed boys

My two boys (husband and son)are pretty active so they usually have battle wounds somewhere on their bodies, but never the same injury at the same time. I have two boys with black eyes right now. Cody and Daniel were wrestling on our bed and of course it ended up with Cody falling off and an etch-a-scetch came a-tumbling down after him, hitting him in the eye. The picture doesn't do the injury justice. It wouldn't be anything too interesting except Daniel came home from work with a black eye too! I keep telling him to come up with a good story like he was in a fire and a beam came down and hit him as he was rescuing a child, but he keeps telling the real story that he was playing basketball at work and got hit in the eye. At least make it sound like you were working!!! (They do have a requirement of 1 hour of physical activity a shift) I've told a couple of people the rescue story at first and it's been pretty funny. So my two boys with black eyes are twins with thier recent battle wounds!

Every year two ducks from the near by pond come into our neighborhood during the Spring time. They've recently returned and Cody loves to feed them crackers and bread. We are trying to explain to him why he shouldn't chase them so they will stay for a little while. Here is Cody feeding them in our front yard.

My new found love

Lately it seems that everyone I know is pregnant. I have been starting to sew lots of baby blankets and burp cloths. As new as I am to sewing, I have found that it's been really fun to sew for babies. I finally have a friend from work that is having a girl so I have been busy sewing her a blanket and burp cloths and diaper/wipes holder. As many of us know, the fabrics out there are much more creative and cuter for girls than boys. As much as I love boys, it's just a fact that girls stuff is cuter. So here are my latest projects.

Farewell Molly

Well, our time as pet owners sadly had to come to an end today. Molly turned a bit aggressive with me last night and it not only scared me a bit but I began to think what would happen if she reacted that way with Cody. Come to find out Shih-tzu's are a bit stubborn and can get a bit mad/aggressive if you try to make them do something that they do not want to do. I was trying to get her to come out from under my bed and she did not want to come. She started growling at me and came at me to bite me when I tried to grab her collar. We went to take her back to the shelter and a family had walked up as we were waiting and were looking at her like they wanted to ask about her. We explained to them what happened and they said they were coming to look for a Shih-tzu and were very experienced with them. They didn't have any younger kids so we decided to let them take her instead of letting her go back into the shelter. Cody was very sad to hear that she had to go away, but he experienced the whole aggressive side to her with me last night and I tried to expain to him that I didn't want her to hurt him so he's trying to come to grips with the fact that she's gone. It all worked out for everyone I guess. She will be missed by Daniel and Cody.

Welcome Molly

After 9 months of trying to have another baby we decided that maybe adoption was the way to go. We were getting so tired from stress of the whole thing and so we filled out some applications and was turned down by some but we finally came across a place that would accept us...the pound!! We cruised the many pounds here in our area and found our Molly. She's a little Shi-tzu who is 1 year old and very calm. For those who remember Callie our German Shepherd...she's compeletly the opposite. She's a nice little lap dog who seems to be anywhere we are. She loves to sleep in our room with us (she would like to be up on the bed but until she's been bathed...no way!)and she seems to have been previously potty trainned so she's doing really well with that. She loves people and other dogs, going for walks, and loves to be out in our front yard. She had to be spayed before we could take her home and I guess they thought giving her a bath before the surgery was asking too much. She was there in the pound for a little over a week when we found her so she's a bit dirty and ungroomed and we are not going to be able to get her groomed for two weeks since she just had her surgery, but I couldn't wait to post her up on the blog for everyone to see. We took the clippers to her this morning to trim her fur because it's getting too long and it's driving her (and my allergies)nuts. So this is our Molly as of now. She will look much better after she gets a bath and groomed.
